Storrar, an ace with 15 victories by the end of the war. He was promoted to Wing Commander in 1944 at the age of 23 and commanded three squadrons of Mustangs till the end of the war. Wing Commander James E. Storrar was born in Liverpool and educated in Chester at Victoria Road Primary School and the City Grammar School.

In the centre reading a book is P/O Archibald NC Weir, whilst the individual on the far right is an aircraftman runner. From the moment they arrived at the West Sussex Serial: JAS The personal hack of British pilot James Eric Storrar (due this carries his initials 'JAS'). Storrar served as a commander with 234th Squadron RAF, equipped with P-51 Mustangs, based at Trevisto in Northern Italy. Later, the aircraft were evaluated by JAS Storrar’s No. 239 Wing.
